About Mostly Markets

Mostly Markets explains why stocks move. When a company reports, a stock jumps or slides, or the Fed speaks, we publish a short story the same day that says what happened, why, and what it means, in plain English.

What we publish

  • Why it moved: a stock moved 4% or more on news, and we found the cause in at least two reliable sources.
  • Earnings: a preview the evening before each big report, and a recap minutes to hours after it.
  • Markets and the economy: the day's story at the close, the Fed, inflation and jobs.
  • Our picks: three stocks we love and one we hate, on one theme at a time, with the numbers behind each call.

How we work

Every fact in a story is checked against two independent sources, and company figures against the company's own release or SEC filing. Stock prices come from Nasdaq and CNBC; financial history from SEC filings. Every number carries its basis: adjusted or not, year on year or quarter on quarter, at the close or after hours.

Stories are researched and drafted with AI tools and checked against our sources before they go out; our writers publish under pen names. Cover images are AI-generated illustrations, not photographs of the companies named.

What we aren't

Mostly Markets is for information and education only. It is not investment advice, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. We don't know your circumstances. Do your own research or talk to a licensed adviser before you invest.
