Apple Leads the Magnificent Seven in 2026 as Alphabet Slides Into the Red
Apple is up 28.3% this year as of Thursday's close. Alphabet's 12.6% drop after its results left it down 9.3%, one of three of the seven now below where they started 2026.

Apple (AAPL) is the best of the Magnificent Seven this year, up 28.3% after rising 1.5% on Thursday to a 52-week closing high of $348.91. Nvidia (NVDA) is second, up 14.6%, followed by Microsoft (MSFT) at 9.6% and Amazon (AMZN) at 5.6%.
Thursday’s big change came from Alphabet (GOOGL). It fell 12.6% to $283.82, its worst day in at least five years, the day after its third-quarter report. Revenue rose 25% to $127.58 billion, but diluted earnings per share fell to $2.12 from $2.87 as other income swung to an $8.22 billion loss from a $12.76 billion gain a year earlier, the company said in its results release.
That leaves three of the seven below where they began the year: Meta (META), down 5.4%, Alphabet, down 9.3%, and Tesla (TSLA), down 10.3%.
What to watch: Amazon’s results, out after Thursday’s close, and Apple’s on Monday, 2 November.
